Entangled Dimensions of AI Literacy

A framework for AI literacy built as a knot rather than a checklist. Ten dimensions — data, algorithmic, ecological, futures, knowledge-construction, creative, epistemic, relational, disciplinary, political — loop through a tangle at the centre, each carrying a claim about how AI is already entwined with something we thought was elsewhere: with extraction and emissions, with who gets to define knowledge, with the futures we invest in and believe possible.

The tangle is the argument. AI literacy here is not a binary of literate and illiterate, nor a set of competencies acquired in order, but a relational field you enter from whichever thread you are already holding. It is offered as a provocation for teaching and curriculum design — published with provocation questions for each dimension, a slide carousel for workshops, high-resolution PNG and PDF, and editable PowerPoint and Illustrator sources, under CC BY 4.0 so it can be adapted and reused with attribution.
