AI Futures

A speculative instrument for imagining plural AI futures, built as a map rather than a forecast. Two axes cross it: less human agency to more human agency, and optimistic futures to pessimistic ones. The four quadrants that fall out are Automated Utopia, Empowered Human Creativity, Total Dystopia and Defiant Resistance, each given its own painted weather — pale drifting light in the utopia, gold and teal turbulence in the creativity quadrant, near-black architecture in the dystopia, and a burning ridge in the resistance.

Each quadrant carries a hotspot that opens a description of what living in that future would mean. Holding four incompatible futures on one surface is the point: it resists the single-track prediction and asks a reader to place themselves, and their field, somewhere on the map. Built for workshop use alongside the futures writing prompts.
